Not that anyone has asked, but...

The lovely and gracious blackbird posted the following picture in an entry of things she was considering and I chimed in, commenting approvingly thereon, but I feel a compulsion to add to my approval.

I LOVE subway tile.

There is something clinically soothing about subway tile. It's all white and uniform and...I'm starting to go all Monk now. 'scuse me while I find the Windex.

i like it. as long as it is kept cleaner than your average subway...

The nice thing about the Sun Belt is how fastidious those who ride mass transit -- both of them -- are about keeping things immaculate.

I've never heard them called Subway Tile before (in our house we call them those tiles laid like bricks) but I like them. We put them in the downstairs bathroom at our city house.

We have them here too in our (only) bathroom, but they are icky and cracked and the grout is falling out and they are coming out as soon as we can possibly afford it.

Oh, and I HATED Sideways. Amoral and depressing. Made me dislike mankind immensely. I am sooo glad I can come here and find likeminded folk.

I never even got to the amoral part of Sideways as I was busy gnawing my own leg off.

It did, however, make me want to run out and get a lot of wine.
