Oh for the days when I could plonk down for a case like that.... of course, having no wine cellar at the house would actually make buying a case for drinking years hence a rather silly move on my part....
But I miss the days when my local wine merchant would actually keep my wine in their cellars for me...

If you're nearish a biggish city, there ARE places (sometimes they are a wine seller, sometimes they are offsite but recommended by the wine seller) that will stash your, er, stash. For a nominal fee.
You could also just get an old refrigerator and set it as warm as it will go...
It's not every day I applaud something coming out of France, so I feel it incumbent upon me to exhort people wherever possible.

Yes, I knew such a place in Atlanta a few years ago, and long before that in Cambridge (UK). Unfortunately, a large metropolitan area near me now means over ten thousand people....
At least we have a decent wine merchant! And we buy our wine for drinking soon enough not to worry too much about storage at home these days. Even a fridge (we use that space for the extra freezer to store the pesto each summer...)
Maybe when the sprogs are grown we can consider building the cellar...
