As you can see, Poppy was right.

Here is Numbah One Son, at his 1st Holy Communion in May (amazing how much he has changed in only 5 months). Notice the snazzy DB blazer and the pocket square. The white tie and crucifix are school issue stuff, so there was not much choice there. Not pictured are the RL Polo suspenders (dark burgundy with jacquard-woven "Polo Bears" wearing little blazers and that sort of thing.

The trousers? Cuffed and forward pleated. Black tassel loafers, too.

I'll try to find more mini-me pix of me and those whom I've begotten, resplendent in classic gentlemen's finery.

P.S. Look at the picture on the right. The hand on NOS's shoulder belongs to Sister R., who is telling our young hero to get--and keep--his hand out of his pocket.

Does the boy like dressing up?

He doesn't like dressing up often, BUT when he has no choice, he likes dressing up WELL.

My son is the same way, I think. He was utterly delighted with the tuxedo he wore for a cousin's wedding; I wonder if it's the dressing well or the compliments that affords that garners the appreciation?

sartorially splendid and *gorgeous* to boot.

my children seem to always look like street urchins...well, i suppose the apples do not fall far from the tree.

Is that kid good-lookin' or WHAT?

Mine typically look like homeless waifs, too. It doesn't help that the boy is tall and skinny and nothing fits him.

Gina,

Numbah One Son is the sort of boy who cannot stand doing something less to a standard lower than "great." Believe it or else, he is rather shy when receiving compliments.

He just likes coming up to us and saying "I look cool" whether it's jeans and t-shirts to go to a BBQ or jacket and tie to go to a wedding.

But he was the only 7-y.o. I have ever know that could tie his own tie.

My poor boy can't tie a tie, and I don't do it often enough to keep it in memory. It took us half an hour in front of a web site by The Tie Guys in order to be ready for school pictures this year.
