This is so sad. In my peer group growing up, there were a few DS siblings who were institutionalized - that's what families did with DS children at that time. I won't judge Miller for what he did at the time of his son's birth, but I will judge him harshly for his continued neglect of his son, especially knowing that horrid conditions in which he was being housed. Unimaginable, and disgusting.
