Still working on the video, but until then...

...here are some vidcaps of my TOTALLY SUCCESSFUL heretical potatoes.

Naturally, I had to scale the recipe down to a family-of-four size.
The dairy contingent and its assistant.
Check out the serious glistening action. Spackle-ish potatoes do NOT glisten. (This is after they had cooled a while, when they should have been really solid like concrete if the naysayers were right.

Which, of course, they weren't.

You know those photos of breakfast cereal in the magazines? That milk is really Elmer's glue.

Not that I'm implying anything.

I don't mean to offend Joke or any other foodies out there, but that stuff looks like it belongs on my other blog. The one devoted to horrifying foodstuffs.

It looks like the paste the weird kids used to eat when I was in second grade. Only yellower.

The problem with vidcaps is

1- They don't show the whole process and
2- They can't accurately show texture

Does ANYONE have any idea how to post video on this blog?

I am serene in the fact these are fluffier and yummier than anything put through a ricer by people who prefer canned cranberry "jelly," not that I mean anything by that.

I've never given the matter much thought, but I'm sure I would prefer canned cranberry jelly to pureed Yukon Gold potatoes.

Who wouldn't?
